American west coast time on June 2, 2014, Apple held WWDC in Moscone Center as scheduled. While the long-expected iPhone 6 and iWatch didn’t show up, Apple’s chief executive Tim Cook announced the launch of new OS X 10.10 and iOS 8. OS X 10.10 is designed to be more flat of course, and the new system is named as Yosemite. It adopts a more friendly user interface and is added more functions. Main changes are as follows.
App icons have been all redesigned and the top menu bar is changed to black, making it clearer than before. A new Today View is added to notification center through which people can check today’s latest news. And Spotlight now is available by a simple click and able to search web info as well as local data at the same time.
iCloud Drive is another application Apple later announced. It runs on OS X, iOS and Windows; supports more storage for various file types. Following iCloud Drive is Mail Drop function, which allows people to upload a much larger attachment now by guiding the file directly to the Mac without going through mail server. And the next is the completely redesigned Safari. As previously mentioned, everything in Safari is now included into the top single bar, giving more space to display contents.
