Apple lifted the curtain on its latest iPhones on Tuesday at Steve Jobs Theater, introducing three new iPhone models and updated versions of Apple Watch and Apple TV.

iPhone X

Claimed as “The future of the smartphone”, iPhone X (pronounced “iPhone ten”) features a completely new look, with a screen that stretches from edge to edge, and gets rid of the home button that’s been on every other iPhone since 2007.

Let’s sum up the new standout features of iPhone X:

  • An edge-to-edge OLED “Super Retina” display
  • Face ID facial recognition unlocking
  • “Animoji” animated emoji
  • Wireless inductive charging
  • A significantly faster custom “A11 Bionic” processor chip

The iPhone X will cost $999 for the baseline model with 64 GB of storage. A 256 GB model is also available. Preorders start Oct. 27 and ship Nov. 3.

iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus

Apple introduced the new iPhone 8/8 Plus with color‑matched, aerospace‑grade aluminum band, which to be water and dust resistant with upgraded displays and studio speakers. The glass back allows the phones to have wireless charging.

The iPhone 8/8 Plus also feature the A11 Bionic processor. Apple says it’s the most powerful chip ever in a smartphone. It’s between 25 percent and 70 percent faster than the chip used in last year’s iPhones.

The iPhone 8/8 Plus have video improvements as well. The devices can capture 4K video at framerate of 60fps. They can also capture slow-motion footage at 1080p and 240fps. New sensors in a dual camera will help these phones take photos and videos with less noise especially in the Plus model. The phones have 3-D touch technology and new stereo speakers that are 25 percent louder.

Apple says the new iPhones are also optimized for augmented reality, or AR, which is software that makes it appear that digital images exist in the user’s real-world environment. Gaming will be a major use case for AR as well.

Apple is using the Qi wireless charging standard for these two iPhones as well. They will be available in 64GB and 256GB configurations starting at $699 for the iPhone 8 and $799 for the iPhone 8 Plus. Start shipping on September 22.

Apple Watch

The new Apple Watch Series 3 has cellular built in. It’s the size just as slim as the Apple Watch Series 2. You can take the call and converse with just the watch’s built-in micthe and the number is the same number that you use on an iPhone, Apple said.

Apple Watch is the #1 watch brand in the world now, Cook said, with over 50 percent growth compared with the previous year. Jeff Williams, chief operating officer, said Apple is adding new measurements to the heart-rate readings of the Apple Watch, such as recovery heart rate.

The new watch will also allow streaming for millions of songs, as it is more power-efficient and has a dual-core processor and supports speaking from Siri. Orders begin Sept. 15 and it ships on Sept. 22.

Introduced on October 27, 2016, the revamped MacBook Pro is the “thinnest and lightest” Pro notebook Apple has ever made. Available in 13 and 15-inch options, the new MacBook Pro is smaller than previous models and it boasts a new “Touch Bar”.

The Touch Bar is a small Retina display panel built into area above the keyboard, where the function keys used to be. The Touch Bar is like a mini computer built right into the MacBook Pro, with contextual buttons and controls that change based on what application you’re using.

In Mail, for example, the Touch Bar has options for sending a reply, deleting a message, composing a new message, and more. In Messages, there are QuickType text predictions and options for choosing emoji, and in Photos, the Touch Bar can be used to scroll through and edit photos. Apple has updated all of its apps to take advantage of the Touch Bar, and third-party apps will also support it with custom functions.

Touch ID, powered by a dedicated T1 processor, is built into the Touch Bar. The T1 processor features a secure enclave, allowing the Touch ID button to be used to unlock the Mac and make purchases with Apple Pay. It also enables fast user switching.

Design wise, both the 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro models are thinner and lighter than their predecessors, with the 13-inch machine shedding the most bulk. Along with a Touch Bar, there’s also a much larger trackpad and a thinner, brighter display that features 67 percent more contrast and support for wide color gamut.

The MacBook Pro adopts a keyboard that’s similar to the keyboard in the MacBook, with a second-generation butterfly mechanism and wider, flatter keys that are more stable. It also includes speakers with double the dynamic range and improved bass, but it does eliminate all ports with the exception of four USB-C ports and a headphone jack.

Skylake processors, faster SSDs, high-speed memory, Thunderbolt 3 support, AMD graphics (15-inch) and an advanced thermal architecture all help to improve performance in the MacBook Pro.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro features a 2.9 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB of memory, Intel Iris Graphics, and 256GB or 512GB of flash storage depending on model. The 15-inch version has a 2.6 GHz or 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of memory, a Radeon Pro 450 or 455, and 256GB or 512GB of flash storage depending on model.

There are also additional upgrade options for improving the CPU, GPU (15-inch only), and storage space.

Pricing on the 13-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1,799 for the entry-level machine, while pricing on the 15-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2,399. Both machines are available in Silver or Space Gray.

Apple is also offering an entry-level MacBook Pro that comes with a lower-end processor, lower-end graphics, and no Touch Bar or Touch ID, but it does have a more affordable price point at $1,499.

The new 13 and 15-inch MacBook Pro models are available for pre-order today. Orders for the machines equipped with Touch Bars will begin shipping out to customers in late November, while the 13-inch MacBook Pro without a Touch Bar will be available as soon as October 31.

Apple seeded the fourth beta of an upcoming iOS 10 update to developers and public beta testers for testing purposes, one week after seeding the third iOS 10.1 beta and more than a month after releasing iOS 10 to the public.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 10.1 beta from the Apple Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile is installed. Public beta testers can download the update over-the-air after installing the configuration profile from Apple’s beta testing website.

iOS 10.1 introduces a new “Portrait” mode for the iPhone 7 Plus that allows it to use the two built-in cameras to create shallow depth of field portrait photos with blurred backgrounds.

To achieve the blurred look, the image signal processor in the iPhone 7 Plus uses the wide-angle camera to create a depth map, dissecting the different layers of the photo to decide what to blur. It works on people, pets, and objects, but does require good lighting to achieve the proper effect.

The update also likely includes bug fixes and other under-the-hood improvements to address issues that have been uncovered since iOS 10 was released, such as an ongoing CallKit bug that has caused CallKit to function unreliably.

iOS 10 has been described by Apple as the “biggest release ever” for iOS users, with features that include a redesigned Lock screen, a Siri SDK to allow third-party apps to integrate with Siri, and a completely overhauled Messages app with stickers, a full App Store, Digital Touch, Bubble Effects, and more.

Other features include a dedicated “Home” app for HomeKit users, new facial and object recognition capabilities in Photos, and redesigned Maps and Apple Music apps. For more details on iOS 10, make sure to check out our iOS 10 roundup.

macOS Sierra, the next-generation Mac operating system, was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 13, 2016 and launched to the public on September 20, 2016. Apple chose to do away with the OS X name in favor of the new “macOS” name to bring the Mac operating system in line with iOS, watchOS, and tvOS.

The main new feature in macOS Sierra is Siri integration, bringing Apple’s personal assistant to the Mac for the first time. Siri offers many of the same capabilities available on iOS, along with Mac-specific functionality like the ability to search through documents to quickly find files.

There’s also an option to pin Siri search results to the Today section of the Notification Center or to add them to documents to provide up to date information at a glance. Siri can also do things like search through Photos, set reminders, initiate FaceTime calls, and more.

In Photos, computer vision and new deep learning algorithmsallow the app to recognize people, places, and things in images using facial, object, and scene recognition, using the information to group images into intelligent collections and enable powerful search capabilities. A new “Memories” tab creates curated collections of past photos to resurface old memories, and there’s a new “Places” album for displaying all photos on a world map.

Messages has rich links for previewing web content and watching video clips directly within the app, and it supports iOS 10 sister features like bigger emoji and “Tapback” options for quickly responding to messages with icons like a heart or a thumbs up. In iTunes, Apple Music is redesigned with a bolder look and a simpler interface to improve music discovery.

Continuity features are expanding in macOS Sierra with the introduction of a new “Auto Unlock” option for Apple Watch owners. When an authenticated and unlocked Apple Watch is in close proximity to a Mac, it unlocks automatically without the need to enter a password. Also new on the Continuity front is Universal Clipboard, a feature for copying something on one Apple device and pasting it on another.

Deeper iCloud integration makes all of the files stored on the desktop or the documents folder of a Mac available on all of a user’s devices, including other Macs, the iPhone and the iPad through the iCloud Drive app, and the web through iCloud.com.

macossierrafilesicloud

All Mac apps, first and third-party, are able to use multiple tabs in macOS Sierra, so in apps like Pages, users work with multiple tabs instead of multiple windows when accessing more than one document.Picture in Picture multitasking is also new in the OS, allowing users to watch a video while doing other things.

Apple is introducing a new Apple File System (APFS) built around SSDs and engineered with native encryption as a primary feature. There’s also a new Optimized Storage feature that frees up space on a Mac when storage is getting low.

Along with iOS 10, macOS Sierra supports Apple Pay in the web browser, letting users pay for purchases made on the web with Apple Pay. Payments are authenticated through a connected iPhone using Touch ID or an unlocked Apple Watch.

Macgo Mac Blu-ray Player is now fully supported on the latest macOS Sierra 10.12.

iOS 10 features a redesigned Lock screen experience with 3D Touch-enabled notifications, a more easily accessible camera, and a widgets screen. A revamped Control Center also offers 3D Touch support along with new controls for music and HomeKit devices. Raise to Wake, a new feature for the latest devices, wakes up the iPhone without bypassing notifications.

Messages has been entirely overhauled with new features like background animations, bubble effects, rich links, and Digital Touch, and there’s even a full Messages App Store that can add almost unlimited capabilities to messages, from sending stickers and GIFs to making payments or placing collaborative dinner orders.

A new Siri SDK lets developers build support into their apps, and a dedicated “Home” app gives users a central place to control HomeKit devices. Photos features impressive facial and object recognition capabilities, and a new Memories feature allows you to discover forgotten memories.

Maps and Apple Music have both been redesigned with cleaner, simpler interfaces, with Maps gaining proactive suggestions and integrated third-party apps and Music gaining better content discovery features and a new focus on lyrics.

There’s a new feature that lets stock iOS apps be hidden from sight, and the QuickType keyboard is smarter with new contextual predictions, including emoji predictions. Apple Pay is available on the web starting today.

On September 7th, Apple announced its iPhone7, iPhone 7 Plus and Apple Watch Series 2 at its annual press event in San Francisco. These two new smartphones bring in a bunch of upgrades such as water resistant, no headphone jack, force-sensitive home button, improved cameras and so on. Now let’s take a deep exploration on the new features:

iphone 7

No headphone jack: As expected, Apple has removed its headphone port from both iPhones. The EarPods will connect through the lightning port instead. As a compensation of losing headphone jack, we will get a new Earpods and an adaptor in the box and instead we will have two stereo speakers one at the bottom and the other on the top of the new iPhone. Apple has also launched AirPods , wireless headphones that can last for five hours of listening time after each charge. These little device looks just like EarPods without wires between them. And they will cost $159 when they come out in late October.

airpods

Improved cameras: The updates on iPhone 7 are an optical image stabilization, a new lens and a 12 megapixel camera (iPhone 7 Plus has adds a 56mm telephoto lens by the side of this one camera). And the flash has four LEDs to make flash brighter without blowing out the scene.

Static home button: The home button is force sensitive now, you will know when you press the button with vibrate instead of a click.

Water resistant: As the removal of the headphone jack, the physical home button and some optimization of the internal structure, the new iPhones will be water-resistant.

Faster processor: The brand new A10 Fusion processor has quad-core that with two cores are high-performance and the other two are high efficiency. Apple says it is 40% faster than the A9 processor and is the most powerful chip ever in a smartphone.

The storage has doubled from 16GB, 32GB, and 128GB to 32GB, 128GB, and 256GB. And the two colors have added to the new iPhones with glossy jet black and matte black, but the new jet black is only available in 128GB and 256GB models. The prices of different models are $649, $749, $849 for iPhone 7 and $769, $869 and $969 for iPhone 7 Plus. You can preorder both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus on September 9, and phones will be available September 16.

What’s New in iOS 10

Like every iOS before it, the just-dropped iOS 10 is packed with a bounty of brand-new features designed to make your phone more useful than ever. It’s not available to download quite yet, but here’s a rundown of all the bells and whistles you have to look forward to come September 13th.

At a glance

  • Siri API for developers
  • Redesigned Lock screen
  • Huge changes and new features for Messages
  • Redesigned Apple Music app
  • Deletable stock apps
  • New “Home” app for HomeKit

iOS 10 features a redesigned Lock screen with 3D-touch enabled notifications that offer up more information, a more easily accessible camera, and a new widgets screen that houses widgets formerly located in the Today section of the Notification Center. There’s a redesigned Control Center, also with support for 3D Touch, and a new Raise to Wake feature wakes up the screen without bypassing notifications.

Siri can do a lot more in iOS 10, thanks to a Siri SDK that allows developers to build Siri support into their apps. You can now ask Siri to do things like summon an Uber or send a message in WhatsApp.

Messages has been overhauled with new features like background animations, bubble effects, rich links, and Digital Touch, the sketching feature first introduced on the Apple Watch, allowing users to create drawings and annotate photos and videos. Handwritten notes, hidden “invisible ink” messages, quick “Tapback” replies, and bigger emoji are new in Messages, and there’s even a predictive emoji feature that will suggest words that can be replaced with emoji.

Messages has its own Messages App Store, so developers can create apps that can be used in iMessages. Apps add almost unlimited capabilities to Messages, from sending stickers and GIFs to making payments to making collaborative dinner orders.

A dedicated “Home” app is available for HomeKit devices, and it’s now possible to delete almost all pre-installed apps that are unneeded. Photos features impressive facial and object recognition capabilities, which power a new Memories feature for rediscovering forgotten moments.

Both Maps and Apple Music have been redesigned with cleaner interfaces that are simpler to use, with Maps gaining proactive suggestions and integrated third-party apps and Apple Music gaining better content discovery and a new focus on lyrics. Apple News has also been overhauled with subscriptions, breaking news notifications, and better organization.

Apple’s QuickType keyboard is smarter in iOS 10 with contextual predictions, and Apple Pay is available on the web. Game Center has been largely eliminated, and many other apps, like Notes, Clock, and Phone have been updated with new features.

(by BRYAN CLARK, socialfresh) Apple announced the second major update to iOS 9 since its September launch today. iOS 9.2 features a number of bug fixes as well as updates to Apple Music, iBooks, Podcasts and News.

ios-9.2-download

The most interesting inclusion is the changes to the Apple News app.

Rather than just relying on algorithmic sorting, as it had done previously, Apple is now going to use human editors to curate a top list of news stories it thinks you’ll want to see each morning and afternoon. The about-face is an interesting one, and should add additional value to a native app that I’m quite fond of already.

Aside from the bug fixes, which are much-needed, the coolest feature update in my opinion is a tweak in the way Safari View Controller handles third-party apps.

The update allows integration with third-party applications so that you have access to LastPass or other applications from within the View Controller window of non-Apple apps, like Narwhal, the popular Reddit app for iOS.

Additionally, iBooks gets 3D Touch support and other native apps, such as Music and Podcasts get minor updates to improve functionality.

Other notable updates:

  • Arabic support for SIRI
  • iBooks gets 3D Touch support
  • Apple News gets a new “Top Stories” section
  • Mail Drop added to Mail for sending large attachments
  • Improved keyboard responsiveness when using Quick Reply
  • iPhone support for USB Camera Adapter

Macgo has announced a new product called Macgo Free Media Player on September 11, 2015. This product is developed as all-powerful media player to provide free playback of DVD and almost any other multimedia formats under Windows operating system, including the latest one Windows 10. And as all PC users know, with the close of Windows Media Center, there has been some multimedia playback function void on Windows 10. This is where Macgo stepped in to deliver perfect free DVD playback on PC with Macgo Free Media Player.

Macgo Free Media Player
Free DVD support for Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP (SP2 or later)
Although Microsoft has officially released a brand-new Windows DVD Player for Windows 10 users to replace the old Windows Media Center, only old Windows 7/8.1 users who have used Media Center can enjoy Windows DVD Player for free after upgrade to Windows 10 , other Windows users have to purchase this software for $14.99 in Windows Store. Compared with this measure of Microsoft, Macgo’s totally Free Media Player certainly is providing a better solution to provide region-free DVD playback on Windows 10/8.1/8/7/Vista/XP (SP2 or later).

Almost any media formats support with HD video & audio
As an all-powerful media player for Windows, Macgo Free Media Player not only can deliver perfect DVD playback on Windows 10, but can play almost any kinds of multimedia formats, like VCD, MKV, MOV, AVI, FLV, WMV, MP4, MPEG, RMVB, MP3 and other non-mainstream formats. It’s able to output fantastic visual experience of up to 1080P HD and 4K Ultra HD images. In audio capability, Macgo Free Media Player supports DTS5.1, Dolby TrueHD Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio, Pass Through, FLAC, APE and WMA without losses to let users have first-class home theater experience.

Free external subtitle and perfect built-in subtitle support
With the arrival of Macgo Free Media Player, all PC users are able to easily enjoy DVD on their desktops or laptops and experience an audiovisual feast without costing a dime. What’s more, a variety of deinterlacing options are available (such as Bob, Mean, Linear, Yadif2x, and more), and subtitles can be displayed from DVDs that are normally not available on other (stand-alone) players. The Windows Media Player (default player in Windows 7) doesn’t provide this versatility.

There’s another thing Macgo Free Media Player is better than Windows Media Center – free external subtitle support like SRT, SSA and SUB. In this way, users can download the subtitles they like and play it with this free DVD player for Windows without complaining about some bugs of built-in subtitles.

In the future days, Macgo will keep timely updates of Macho Free Media Player and any upgrade services will be life-time free, but this free product will not provide support service to customers. Macgo has the other product designed on the basis of this Free Media Player for Windows that have more functions like Blu-ray Disc / ISO / Folder playback support and free customer service – Macgo Windows Blu-ray Player, which is 33% OFF right now and can be a great choice for users who want to play all kinds of media formats with one software.

System Requirements:
PC: Microsoft® Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 / Vista / XP
